Join us for the grand finale of Castle of our Skins’ 4th Annual BSU Intercollegiate Fellowship, where talented Black student musicians from Boston-area music institutions will co-curate and perform a concert inspired by the theme of Renaissance. Featuring works by African diasporic composers, this event celebrates a new generation of artists as they showcase their creative growth and collaboration following two weeks of intensive exploration with each other. Don’t miss this unique celebration of cultural revival and artistic expression!
This fellowship is an invitation to music students who are members of Black Student Unions and Black student bodies of Greater Boston area colleges and conservatories. Music students from these institutions (Longy, Boston University, Berklee, New England Conservatory, Harvard, etc.) convene for:
· Fellowship with other Black student-musicians across a widening network;
· Artistic engagement with a collaborative cohort;
· Creative agency to make art that reflects their most human experiences;
· Professional development around career growth and entrepreneurial skills;
· Access to mentorship and a library of solo/chamber works by Black composers
